Rangers will host Aberdeen at Ibrox on Wednesday night as they look to keep their place at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
The Light Blues took control of the top-flight at the weekend and Steven Gerrard will be keen to see his side extend their lead with three points.
And, ahead of the game, the manager has revealed that one of his players has had some ‘great news’ recently.
“Everyone has come through the game fine, and we have no more injuries to add. Ryan Kent has done two days full training, so tomorrow will come too soon for him, but he is extremely close which is great news for him,” Gerrard said.
He also revealed that Borna Barisic is closing in on a return as well, confirming that he had played 45 minutes for the reserves on Monday.
“Borna played 45 minutes [for the reserves on Monday] so he is getting there and he is very close to getting back in the squad,” he added.
Kent and Barisic edging ever closer to their returns is great news for Rangers and Gerrard as they head into a hectic footballing period.
The Liverpool-loanee had been in great form before he was injured and had been a real creative weapon for the Light Blues.
Barisic has been sidelined since the end of September, so his return will feel like a new signing, and having a fully-fit squad heading into the festive period could be brilliant for those at Ibrox.
