Rangers will host St Johnstone at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon as they return to action in the Scottish Premiership.
Steven Gerrard will be keen to see his side reduce Celtic’s lead at the top of the table to four points, ahead of their Old Firm rivals tricky encounter with Kilmarnock on Sunday.
However, it appears the Light Blues have some worrying injury news ahead of the contest.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, via the club’s official Twitter, Gerrard revealed that both Jermain Defoe and Kyle Lafferty are doubtful.
SG: Defoe is a doubt, Lafferty is a doubt. Goldson is fine. Grezda is still a little bit away. Murphy has started kicking balls but he won’t be back until the last few games of the season. Dorrans has had a setback but we are not sure to the extent of it just yet.

Defoe is believed to have complained of a tight hamstring, whilst Lafferty has a calf issue, whilst Alfredo Morelos is unavailable due to suspension, as is Allan McGregor.
Eros Grezda continues to remain out with an ankle injury, whilst Graham Dorrans suffered a setback in his recovery.
Connor Goldson, however, is in contention after managing to overcome his long-standing injury problem.
The news that Defoe and Lafferty are both doubtful for Rangers on Saturday will come as worrying news for Gerrard.
With Morelos suspended, the Light Blues are now extremely short of attacking options and would have been relying on the experienced duo to find the back of the net at Ibrox.
McGregor’s ban will also come as a blow to Rangers, however, they will be pleased that Goldson is back available after a long time on the sidelines.
