Rangers fans will be somewhat expectant to see their side come out victorious on Friday night when they meet Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership.
However, it appears Steven Gerrard may have been dealt a fresh injury blow ahead of the trip to Easter Road.
What’s the News?
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, via the club’s official Twitter account, Gerrard revealed that Gareth McAuley sustained a hamstring issue following an in-house match.
SG: We had an in-house game yesterday, McAuley has a hamstring issue after this but he is the only new issue.

The manager stated that the Northern Ireland international’s injury was the only new issue as he had earlier admitted that he would have to make a late decision on Ryan Jack and his possible involvement.
Although McAuley has only played a handful of times for Rangers since arriving on a free transfer, his hamstring issue will have come as a frustrating blow to the club.
The 39-year-old is vastly experienced, however, he has only been able to make just two appearances for the Light Blues since the turn of the year.
With this latest setback, his chances of extending his stay at Ibrox could be in real jeopardy as he is already considered to be way down the pecking order when it comes down to central defenders.
The likes of Connor Goldson, Joe Worrall and Nikola Katic are all thought to be in front of him and with the season entering its final stages, it will be hard for the veteran to get the opportunities to impress Gerrard on the pitch.
Rangers fans, what do you make of McAuley’s chances of remaining at Rangers beyond the end of the season following his latest injury setback? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
