Rangers are continuing their quest to add to their side this summer, however, one man looks unlikely to make a switch to Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard has been extremely active in the transfer window as he looks to turn his new team into a squad capable of competing for the Scottish Premiership title.
The manager has already seen the Light Blues progress to the next round of the Europa League stages, however, it is thought those performances have highlighted a need for the Ibrox outfit to return to the transfer market.
Rangers are believed to be in the market for a new centre-back, despite adding Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson to the squad already, however, a report is now suggesting one man’s possible arrival looks slim.
The Glasgow Evening Times are claiming that Gerrard is unlikely to make a move for Curtis Tilt of Blackpool, as it is believed he is not near the top of his wish list this summer.
Millwall’s Jake Cooper has been identified as his main target, however, the London club’s defiance in insisting he will not leave them this summer led to the 26-year-old becoming a target.
Rangers must still feel confident that they can land Cooper if they have decided against pursuing Tilt this summer.
The Blackpool defender would have been a smart alternative to the Millwall enforcer, and a considerably cheaper option, however, it is thought that Gerrard is now not to keen on having him at Ibrox.
However, they miss out on another centre-back completely should the Londoners remain defiant with their stance and could rue not going after Tilt.
