Steven Gerrard is expected to confirm he will be the manager of Rangers in the coming weeks and fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting him to make a number of changes to the squad in the summer.
According to a report in the Daily Record, James Tavernier’s career at Ibrox could be coming to an end sooner rather than later, with a number of Premier League clubs interested in the defender.
It has been said that the Light Blues should consider any bids that come in for the 26-year-old worth more than £4million, as they would be able to use that money to improve other areas of the team. Tavernier joined Rangers in 2015 and has been a solid player during his three-year spell, attracting rumoured interest from Swansea City, Everton and Burnley in the past.
The locals in the bar will feel they can get more than £4m for a player of his quality and would expect to do so considering his importance to the team, whether it be in defensive or attacking areas of the field.
Rangers fans will want to get more than what the Daily Record are suggesting with many in the Tavern believing Tavernier could be difficult to replace if he were to leave Ibrox, however, a number of the punters will be enticed by the fact that the money could be used to improve other areas of the squad.
