The Rangers fans within the Transfer Tavern are well aware that their side are now 13 points adrift of runaway leaders and deadly rivals, Celtic. Quite frankly, they’re willing to do anything to see them surpass Celtic once again and a strong transfer window will help that wish come true.
The Gers have recently seen their form decrease massively as the end of the season nears. Rangers boss Graeme Murty has massively improved the team up until this point and despite the drop in intensity shown by his team, if he is given the necessary backing this summer, Rangers will be hopeful that they have the right manager to control a good group of players.
Rangers will be happy to see improvements in positions all over the pitch so us punters agree that signing John McGinn would be the ideal start. Valued at just £1.13 million on Transfermarkt, McGinn has been the stand-out man for Hibernian this term and consequently has a number of teams sniffing around him, including David Moyes and West Ham. In his 37 appearances so far this season, McGinn has returned an impressive six goals and six assists.
Although it’s believed that John McGinn was a boyhood Celtic fan, as long as he is willing to perform for Rangers, it shouldn’t be a problem considering his talent. With the former St Mirren man only being 23-years-old as well, his age and talent make him an extremely desirable player for Rangers to acquire.
Rangers have not been able to challenge Celtic since their return to the Scottish Premiership and it’s about time they do. Starting with John McGinn, the Gers would already look a stronger outfit and one capable of pushing their rivals to the title.
A wonderfully powerful driving midfield force, the punters propping up our bar would love to see him arrive at Ibrox.
