The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been hugely impressed with the manner in which summer signing Alfredo Morelos has started in Scotland.
Indeed, not much was known about the Colombian prior to his arrival on these shores over the course of the summer, though the 21-year-old, scoring 12 goals in all competitions thus far. However, with quotes sourced by the Scottish Sun (originally from the latest BRITmania Radio Podcast), the former Helsinki forward doesn’t believe he’s the Gers’ best player.
Speaking to them, Morelos has revealed that fellow summer signing Carlos Pena is the Light Blues’ best player. The Mexican international was another man brought to Ibrox over the course of the summer, though hasn’t enjoyed quite as good a start as the forward.
“So far, here, Carlos Pena”, he said when asked who was the best.
While clearly a talent, the midfielder has struggled for form and fitness since his arrival and was lucky not to be banned following an off the ball incident away at Hamilton, though has clearly had quite the impact on Morelos.
Yet more frustration for Rangers fans. If Pena could get up and running well, he’d certainly offer Pedro Caixinha much more from midfield and would be a tool to close the gap on Celtic.
