Rangers have made a strong start to the season and that leads many to believe, including manager Steven Gerrard, that they could achieve big things this season.
Current league standings make good reading for the Rangers fans, having seen their team place higher than Celtic for the first time in years and that is a tremendous feeling, six games in or not.
Much credit has been given to Steven Gerrard, who has enjoyed a great deal of success during the first few months of his reign at Rangers and here’s to thinking the Liverpool legend can continue to do that.
His team is full with a number of talented players and even youngsters are getting their chance to show what they’re about, that’s why in January, a great move for Rangers would be to bring back Billy Gilmour on a loan deal from Chelsea.
Gilmour, an incredibly talented 17-year-old player for Chelsea, has been the talk of the club’s youth system for a short while now, after desperately impressing since making his move to London permanent from Rangers last season.
So why plan a move back now? Well if he came to Rangers now, not only would he have the chance to play for the first-team but he could be an influential player for Steven Gerrard’s new-look Gers.
The Scotsman plays his football in Premier League 2 and has enjoyed another great start to that league competition, scoring two goals and adding a further three assists in six outings thus far. Along with Glenn Middleton, the two could delight Ibrox supporters.
The standard in Scotland would be a great experience for Gilmour and even at 17, he could understand what life is like to be a regular professional footballer.
