The Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern believe the jury is still out on Pedro Caixinha.
Indeed, the Portuguese barely covered himself in glory during Saturday’s Old Firm meeting and his vast array of summer signings are yet to wholly convince our local Light Blues.
So, comments made by him to Rangers TV (posted on the club’s official website) have divided opinion.
While updating supporters about Bruno Alves’ fitness ahead of Friday’s night trip to Hamilton Academical, the 46-year-old name dropped a certain Real Madrid superstar.
“Bruno travelled to Madrid and he was working intensively with Ronaldo’s physio”, he said.
”He worked on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and he went because I said to him to go and recover as quickly as possible.”
Though some of our punters were pleased to know their crocked defender was working with Ronaldo’s physio, believing it says a lot about the calibre of player the club are now signing, others think it’s a rather pathetic name drop to shift attention from his outburst during Celtic’s visit.
Alves and CR7 won Euro 2016 with the Portuguese national side of course, though many of our resident Gers want Caixinha to focus on turning things around at Ibrox, not referencing the world’s best.
