Ahead of next season, the Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping manager Pedro Caixinha conducts a monumental rebuild at Ibrox.
After a difficult year for the Light Blues, those propping up the bar believe the Portuguese desperately needs to crack the whip in order to at least attempt closing the gap on bitter rivals Celtic.
So, they’ve been impressed to read quotes posted on the club’s official website signalling just how early their boss wants the future of his players sorted out. Speaking to Rangers TV, the 46-year-old revealed every individual on his books will no their future at Ibrox by the end of the week.
Much has been made about the future of star man Barrie McKay in recent weeks, with the 22-year-old understood to have snubbed a new deal. Linked with what would be a controversial move to join up former Gers boss Mark Warburton, Caixinha announced he’d be holding talks with the Scotsman soon.
“Football is always about the moment and I believe Barrie McKay is passing through a very good moment, he has scored in the last two matches and so has Joe Garner”, he said.
“They are two players who we can maybe count on from now and count on in the future if they keep doing this on a regular basis.
“The majority of the players already know if they are part of our plans for next season or not and Barrie is also included in that list of players. I will conclude that process during this week.”
Whatever happens with McKay, our resident Gers just hope it’s sorted soon.
