The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted about the fact their side are through to the League Cup semi-finals, despite their 1-3 win over Partick proving difficult.
Indeed, that scoreline flatters Pedro Caixinha’s men somewhat, though a trip to Hampden Park is in order none the less, much to the delight of our resident Gers.
One of the men who missed a sitter last night, Alfredo Morelos, has made quite the impact on the punters propping up our bar. Despite his failure to notch last night, the Colombian has scored eight goals in six games since joining the club in the summer and has recently been touted as a target for Aston Villa.
Well, comments made to Pedro Caixinha to the Glasgow Evening Times in regards to the forward barely fill our drinkers with all that much confidence.
The Portuguese conceded that the 21-year-old could be sold by the club amid reported interest from south of the border, adding to the frustration amongst our resident Gers here in the Tavern.
“I’m confident that he still needs a lot of work in front him”, he said.
”He is doing great, scoring goals but needs to be coached in the direction we want. He is still a young player, a powerful goal scorer.
“We are glad he is being followed by English clubs. That is the reality of the market. We cannot run away from it.
While conceding that he may be sold at some point may be realistic, surely it’s not the thing to say during a relatively frustrating campaign.
Not all too many Rangers fans will see their club as a stepping stone, so these quotes are unlikely to go down to well.
