‘Can’t wait’ – Rangers fans on Twitter excited for new dawn after club post

The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting excited about the new season after the club posted a happy birthday message to their new gaffer. Gerrard will be taking his first steps in senior management with the Ibrox club after spending the last two years coaching Liverpool’s U18s, however, the Rangers job provides his first real challenge.

Despite Gerrard’s rather obvious inexperience, the fans have still been getting excited over his tenure in Glasgow. So far the Liverpool legend has signed both Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor and it looks like he’s not done yet, as a number of other Premier League stars have been linked with making the move north of the border to sign for the Scouse legend as he prepares to close the gap on Celtic.

Stevie G will be up against a familiar foe in his time with Rangers. The 38-year-old will be contesting the Old Firm against his former Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers. The Northern Irishman has been a rip-roaring success since he made the move to Paradise, winning Scottish football’s first ever back-to-back domestic treble. Celtic’s dominance in Scotland has never been so strong, and it will take a very talented manager to usurp the Hoops from their throne atop of the Scottish Premier League.
