Confirmed: Agreement reached with 25-year-old as Rangers overhaul continues

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking forward to the new era under Steven Gerrard this season as they look to become competitive once again in the Scottish Premiership.

The former Liverpool star has been busy in the transfer window since he was confirmed as the new chief of the Ibrox outfit, and his recruitment drive has shown no signs of slowing down.

And the Light Blues boss has just announced that he has completed his seventh signing since taking over, with an agreement reached to bring Jon Flanagan north of the border to Ibrox, as per the club’s official website.

The defender has joined the Gers on a two-year deal following his release from Liverpool, with Gerrard knowing the player well.

The 25-year-old can play on either side of the defence and could be one of the final pieces to ensure his backline is as strong as possible, following the additions of Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson, with Gerrard continuing his overhaul of the Rangers squad ahead of the 2018/19 Scottish Premiership season.

Landlord’s Verdict: Flanagan has shown that he can be a useful player at the back, as well as going forward, and the Rangers fans will be delighted that they have managed to get a player of his quality on a free transfer.

The locals will be pleased with the addition and will hope that Gerrard can get the best out of him as they look to compete for Scottish honours.
