Rangers have some serious work to do if they want to catch Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
The Gers remain some way off Brendan Rodgers and his team but, with a good run of form ensuring they maintain the pressure, Celtic could crack at any moment.
It’s not as if Rangers don’t have the players to bring the title back to Ibrox either. Indeed, their squad is now blessed with some top professionals and players who can genuinely make a difference in every position on the pitch.
Steven Gerrard has done a terrific job in getting Rangers where they are now in his first season in charge, yet more must be done in the summer if silverware is to again return to Ibrox.
A hard-working, quality midfielder in the form of Derby’s Craig Bryson is exactly the calibre of signing Rangers need to make in the summer, with the 32-year-old available on a free transfer.
Bryson, (who is valued at £1.3 million on Transfermarkt) has been a regular fixture in Derby’s midfield this season but that shouldn’t stop Rangers from trying to sway his interests to Scotland instead.
To think that a man of his quality could potentially have no cost is mind-blowing and Rangers have to do all they can to bring him to the club.
With 24 appearances in all competitions so far this season, Bryson has in that time provided two goals and three assists.
He’s still very energetic and would prove to be a successful signing for Rangers without a doubt. Able to operate more deep-lying or attacking, Bryson has the skill to improve the Gers chances ahead of next season.
