Rangers will be desperate to carry momentum through into their next Scottish Premiership match, after beating Kilmarnock 3-1 in the Scottish League Cup.
The Bluenoses are still unbeaten in all competitions under Steven Gerrard as they continue to defy expectations. But, having already dropped points in the Scottish Premiership on the opening day against Aberdeen, it’s about time the Liverpool legend thought about mixing things up to fit in with the club’s busy schedule.
Rangers will travel to Fir Park to play against Motherwell in their next Scottish Premiership encounter. The Steelmen have lost their opening two fixtures but they will be desperate to secure their first three points by causing an upset.
Interestingly, one man who is yet to start for the Bluenoses in the Scottish Premiership so far this season is Daniel Candeias.
Of course, due to the amount of players that Gerrard drafted in over the course of the summer transfer window it was always going to be difficult when it comes down to selecting a team. And, it looks as if the Portuguese winger has fallen down the pecking order at Ibrox as he can’t seem to buy himself a starting place in the side.
Indeed, the 30-year-old was one of Rangers’ bright sparks in the last campaign as he managed to accumulate eight goals and provided 13 assists for his teammates. So, perhaps Gerrard should give the creative midfielder a chance to showcase his talents by including him in his lineup against a struggling Motherwell side.
