Just days after another famous European night at Ibrox, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side sparked their title challenge into life with a thumping 3-1 win against league leaders, Heart of Midlothian. Indeed, having lost to Livingston last time out, a big win over the Jambos has now cut their lead down to just five points.
While there’s still a long way to go of course, this could be a turning point in the campaign. With Hearts and Hibernian at the top, the Light Blues are catching up with their Edinburgh counterparts and now sit just two points behind bitter rivals Celtic.
On a famous day at Ibrox, there were a number of heroes. Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield all scored, though special praise was reserved for one man.
Daniel Candieas thrilled fans with his pressing today, providing quality on the ball, as well as a tireless work rate off it. The 30-year-old, who joined as part of Pedro Caixinha’s 2017 overhaul, looks a real fit in Gerrard’s system. So much so in fact, that one Rangers fan has even praised the aforementioned Portuguese coach for signing him in the first place.
With that in mind, here’s a closer look at some of the reaction online.

Wet, cold Sunday afternoon but the crowd in all 4 sides were bouncing. Great way to finish before Int break. Candeias work rate is tremendous. Morelos is unplayable at times.
