With the Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern desperately eager for the club to announce a replacement for Pedro Caixinha as soon as possible, the excitement really is palpable amongst the punters propping up our bar. Indeed, the pressure is on the board to get this right.
As you can imagine, multiple names have been touted for the vacant Ibrox gig, so the debating around the bar here has become rather tedious. With that in mind, comments from the club’s official website have at least given us something else to talk about.
Jamie Barjonas has recently penned a new contract with the club after coming through their academy, joining Aidan Wilson in committing his long-term future to the Ibrox giants. Furthermore, the club write that more names are ‘set to follow’ in the ‘coming weeks’, much to the delight of our local Light Blues.
While it isn’t quite the big managerial news they were hoping for, it’s promising news for supporters, who enjoy seeing talented youngsters make headway in their Rangers careers.
With many of the club’s signings over the last few years absolutely flopping, it’s vital the club continue to produce young players and develop them into first-team stars. Under Graeme Murty, there’s a clear pathway to the starting XI, allowing for a great deal of continuity.
