Forgotten Rangers man to benefit from Gerrard’s rebuilding process – report

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be surprised by the decision new manager Steven Gerrard has seemingly made regarding one of their fringe players next season.

The former Liverpool star has been busy making a number of transfers already this summer to try and help rebuild the side and turn them into competitors for Scottish title honours, yet one forgotten player looks set to avoid the chop.

And that’s because, according to Football Ghana, Joe Dodoo looks set to be given a chance to impress, and as such will not be sold this summer by Gerrard a move that has surprised many in the Tavern.

The attacker made just two appearances off the bench last season, what with his loan spell with Charlton Athletic cancelled early, and as such was expected to be one of a number of players to leave the club.

Yet, it looks like the forgotten 22-year-old could benefit from Gerrard’s rebuild of the club by staying at Ibrox beyond the summer.

Landlord’s Verdict: Dodoo is a forgotten man at Ibrox and many of the locals in the Tavern will feel that a move for the 22-year-old would be best to get his career back on track.

The striker has shown that he has potential, yet it remains to be seen whether he will fit into Gerrard’s plans for the Light Blues next season.

What does seem clear though is that the new Rangers boss will give him a chance to prove his worth during pre-season.
