Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking ahead to the Old Firm Derby in the Scottish Cup semi-final at the weekend and the locals will be hoping some of the comments being made will help them become victorious.
The Gers have found it difficult to beat Brendan Rodgers’ side in recent times, but the Ibrox faithful will be hoping they can finally take an advantage over their fierce rivals.
However, former Celtic striker Simon Donnelly believes the Light Blues do not have a player on their team to be in the Hoop’s starting XI, which is sure to rile the punters.
“You could argue the right back [James] Tavernier has been decent this season, but I wouldn’t swap anybody in Celtic’s team,” he told the Evening Times.
“They are winners at the moment.
“Until somebody knocks them off their perch I wouldn’t swap any of them.”
As much as it pains many of our local Light Blues to admit it, he’s probably right. Despite a strong season at times, life amongst our resident Gers has proven really rather difficult since the Old Firm.
The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be looking for a reaction from their players to finally record a victory against Celtic, having failed to get a win against Brendan Rodgers side in 9 meetings. The comments from Donnelly will anger the locals and they will be hoping their team can finally end their hoodoo and ensure they progress to the final.
