Gerrard must think about starting Kent and Halliday

Gerrard must think about starting Kent and Halliday

Rangers will be desperate to get themselves back into the title race later on today, having failed to secure three points in their last two Scottish Premiership outings.

The Bluenoses have impressed in recent times under Steven Gerrard, but plenty of improvements are still required in order for them to turn things around.

Interestingly, Rangers will welcome Hamilton Academical to Ibrox in their next Scottish Premiership fixture. The Accies have lost their last two games, so the Bluenoses will fancy themselves in front of home support.

With that in mind, Rangers can dig themselves out of a hole if Gerrard turns to this PAIR today…

RYAN KENT

Ryan Kent has proved to be a gem of a signing for Rangers in the current campaign, having produced three goals and two assists. His pace and trickery has worked wonders on both flanks for the Bluenoses, but he does need to start contributing more in the final third if he wants to secure a permanent move.

Nevertheless, with a defensively vulnerable Hamilton Academical side up next, Gerrard will be relying on the on-loan Liverpool man to cause all sorts of problems.

ANDY HALLIDAY

Andy Halliday appeared to be heading towards the exits during Graeme Murty’s reign, but he has managed to turn things around completely under Steven Gerrard.

The Scotsman has been transformed into a left-back in the current campaign, which has certainly benefited his all-round game at Rangers. And, he even managed to get himself on the scoresheet against Hamilton last time out as he produced a wonderful free-kick to draw them level.

Therefore, Gerrard should reward the 27-year-old for his hard work by gifting him a place in the starting XI.
