Rangers won’t want to get too ahead of themselves, despite their promising position in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.
The Bluenoses won’t accept anything less than silverware in the current campaign, having come so far under the guidance of Steven Gerrard in his first season in charge, with Celtic right in their eye line.
However, Rangers will be up against it later on today as they’ll travel to McDiarmid Park to face St Johnstone. The opposition have been a mixed bag throughout the current campaign, but they do have a number of players that could seriously harm the Bluenoses if they suffer a lapse in concentration.
Nevertheless, Gerrard will send warning shots to Celtic if he puts his faith in this exciting DUO…
Alfredo Morelos hasn’t featured much for the Bluenoses in recent times due to the suspension he served for picking up a red card against Aberdeen at the start of this month.
The South American is the club’s top scorer and has played arguably the biggest part in their campaign so far, so Gerrard will be delighted to gift him another start in the side later on today, after witnessing his side’s struggles in front of goal at times during his absence.
Daniel Candeias has been one of the unsung heroes for the Bluenoses in the current campaign, having defied expectations since being asked to step into the side.
He continues to excel in attacking areas with a number of goals and assists to his name.
Therefore, Gerrard will be relying on the Portuguese winger to carry his momentum through with him into the second half of the season, starting with another dominant performance against St Johnstone today.
