Gerrard tables first Rangers transfer bid as Ibrox rebuild begins in earnest

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be disappointed that the team finished third in this year’s Scottish Premiership campaign and will be expecting Steven Gerrard to make a number of changes this summer.

The former Liverpool man will know he has a huge task heading into Ibrox and will want to make sure he has the squad ready before they challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for domestic glory.

According to the Scottish Sun, Gerrard is already busy with his transfer plans and has identified Swansea City’s Oliver McBurnie, having already made a £4million bid to bring him north of the border. The 21-year-old is a huge Rangers fan and it is believed a move to his boyhood club could be too good for him to turn down.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be hoping they can convince the Scot to come and join them at Ibrox, having impressed during his loan spell with Barnsley in the Championship. The Swans are thought to want to keep McBurine at the Liberty Stadium, as they will be in the division following their relegation, however, a number of teams are interested in him.

The locals in the bar will be looking for the team to add a goalscorer to the team, especially if they were to lose Alfredo Morelos to China, and at only 21 years of age, he could have a bright future with the Glaswegians.
