Glasgow Rangers: Fans divided as ‘Gers eye up a move for Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster - Rangers

Glasgow Rangers are considering a move for Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster, according to reports.

The ‘Gers have already made their first move in the transfer market ahead of the 2020/21 season by signing Ianis Hagi. The Romania international impressed on loan from Genk, scoring three goals in 12 games, and he has now made the move to Ibrox for £3m on a permanent basis.

Reports have now emerged that the Light Blues are eyeing up a loan move for Brewster in the summer. The 20-year-old has spent the second half of the season on loan in the English Championship with Swansea City and he scored four goals in 11 games for the Swans (Transfermarkt). He is currently valued at £4.86m by Transfermarkt.

The Scottish Sun claims that Ibrox is his preferred destination, as he is keen to play European football next season. Brewster has previously spoken of his admiration for ‘Gers boss Steven Gerrard.

Jurgen Klopp has already loaned Ryan Kent, Sheyi Ojo and Ovie Ejaria to Glasgow in recent years, although results have been a mixed bag so far. Indeed, Ojo has received a low WhoScored rating of 6.45 for his performances this season.

Unsurprisingly, many RFC fans reacted to the transfer link on social media, with one supporter tweeting that others are “clueless” if they don’t want him to join, while another feared that Brewster would end up being no better than others who made the switch from Liverpool to Ibrox.
