As per The Scottish Sun, Glasgow Rangers flop Umar Sadiq has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Sadiq joined the Gers on loan in 2018 from AS Roma, but he failed to score in four matches for the club.
Since returning to Italy, though, other loan spells have seen his stock rise, and he is now a target for the Red Devils.
Nigeria international Sadiq failed to ever make an impact at Ibrox, with him amassing the grand total of 116 minutes during his time under Steven Gerrard. When his temporary spell was brought to an end in December 2018, few would have expected to hear much about him again.
Since then, though, he has gone from strength to strength. After scoring three times in 17 matches for Perugia, he joined Serbian outfit Partizan Belgrade last summer. His stats there make for very impressive reading, with him scoring 17 goals and providing a huge 16 assists in 37 matches.
Did you expect Umar Sadiq to hit these heights?
He also has four goals in six caps for the Super Eagles – he has come a long way since that time in Scotland. Currently valued at £1.8m by Transfermarkt, it still seems a long-shot that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co would be targeting him, but it does show that Gerrard may have failed to get the best out of him. Now, elsewhere, he is flourishing into a talented player.
