According to France Football, Glasgow Rangers are interested in making a move for Glen Kamara.
Clearly, the quality of his displays has caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, with Ligue 1 side Marseille said to be interested. According to this report, he could well cost L’OM between €8m (£7m) and €10m (£8.8m) if they were to make a concrete move for him.
Unfortunately for the ‘Gers, they know only too well that they are a stepping stone for many a player who is looking to put themselves in the shop window. Kamara is not the only one of Gerrard’s players who has been linked with a move away in recent weeks and months – 29-goal Alfredo Morelos has been surrounded by speculation as well.
Will Glen Kamara be at Rangers next season?
Both the manager and Ross Wilson must resist the temptation to move him on right now, though – mainly because that fee could be even bigger in the future. Despite the Scottish Premiership already being 29 games into the season, the Finland international has appeared in just 19 of them. Also, the Gers are second in the table and huge 13 points behind their fierce rivals Celtic.
If a club Marseille are willing to pay £8.8m right now, imagine what they would be tempted to part with if 24-year-old Kamara was one of the first names on the team-sheet in a title-winning campaign for the ‘Gers. That is exactly what they should be looking to strive towards – otherwise, they could end up kicking themselves in the future.
