Alan Hutton has told Football Insider that Lyndon Dykes could be a fantastic addition for Glasgow Rangers, especially if Florian Kamberi does not make the move to Ibrox permanently.
24-year-old Dykes currently appears for Livingston in the Premiership, and has excelled this term. Following the end of the campaign, his record stood at 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 games in all competitions. Kamberi, meanwhile, has managed just one goal and two assists in nine matches since joining the Gers on loan in January.
Hutton clearly believes that Dykes would be a good signing for the Gers, perhaps at the expense of Kamberi. He said:
“He’s definitely a player who’s caused Rangers and Celtic many problems this season, he’s really stepped up in the bigger games and showcased his talents. I’m not surprised Gerrard’s looking at him I think he’d be a really good addition, especially if Kamberi’s not going to stay.”
Currently valued at £428,000 by Transfermarkt, and with just one year left on his contract, he is not a player that will likely set Ross Wilson and co back a fortune. On top of that, he would probably jump at the chance to play for the Gers – it is a step up from Livingston, with all due respect.
Would you like to sign Lyndon Dykes?
Steven Gerrard must look to be clever during this off-season, and he could do a lot worse than Dykes. As Hutton said, signing him would be a great addition if Kamberi doesn’t complete his move.
