According to The Daily Record, Glasgow Rangers are yet to decide whether they want to sign Florian Kamberi on a permanent deal.
Kamberi made the switch to Ibrox on loan from Hibernian in January, and managed one goal in nine matches before the season was cut short due to the current pandemic.
The Gers, though, are still in limbo, and are not sure whether they want him to stay long-term at the club according to the report.
£540,000-valued Kamberi – as per Transfermarkt – has already stated that he would like to carry on at Ibrox. After all, the Gers are a step up from Hibernian, and as he told Blick a couple of months ago, playing in front of 50,000 people is enticing for any footballer.
The truth is, though, that the Gers can do far better than the 25-year-old. They already have Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe at their disposal, who scored 45 goals between them before the term was brought to a close, and some of their early transfer business shows they are trying to throw down a marker.
Would you like to sign Kamberi permanently?
Ianis Hagi is said to be close to completing a deal to move permanently to Ibrox – this a player who has appeared in the Champions League as recently as December. The Gers have a 13-point gap to make up at the top of the Premiership table, and they need to be looking at top-quality talent to be able to do that. Given his displays so far where he has only netted once, it is hard to see Kamberi being the man to fire them to a title.
