Glasgow Rangers will still be licking their wounds from their defeat at the Emergency General Meeting on Tuesday.
The Ibrox outfit had been pushing for an investigation into the SPFL, the sport’s governing body in Scotland, following allegations of corruption – the Gers even provided a 200-page dossier which they believe was full with proof to back up those claims.
In the end, though, just 12 other clubs backed their proposal, with 27 others believing there is no need for a probe into the authority – two abstained from voting at all. As such, there will be no investigation at the moment – it remains to be seen whether the Gers take the matter further.
Should Rangers continue their fight for an investigation?
Before the vote, there was a meeting involving the clubs voting, and Peter Lawwell was said to have given a rousing speech in an attempt to convince the clubs to vote against the proposal. As you can imagine, this has piqued the attention of plenty of the Gers fans, and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts.
