Sheyi Ojo appears to have confirmed his departure from Glasgow Rangers following a video he shared on Instagram.
The 22-year-old joined the Gers on loan last summer from Liverpool, and enjoyed moderate success at Ibrox – he scored five goals and provided seven assists in 36 games in all competitions for the Glasgow side this term. However, he often came under heavy criticism from portions of the club’s fanbase, and also saw his playing time reduced by Steven Gerrard as the season progressed.
On Thursday, he appeared to confirm that he will be leaving the Gers at the end of this spell, and will not be signing permanently. He shared a video on his Instagram account of some of his best moments at the club, along with the caption: “Best fans in the world no doubt. You guys gave me love & some moments in my life i’ll never forget. Thankyou”.
As such, he will be going back to Merseyside, although it does not appear that he will be there too long. This is already the fifth temporary departure from Anfield of his career, and with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane ahead of him in the pecking order, it is extremely unlikely that he will be part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans moving forward.
Would you like to sign Ojo permanently?
From a Gers point of view, there is unlikely to be any ill-will towards the £1.44m-valued ace – as per Transfermarkt – following this classy message.
