Regardless of the result of the Emergency General Meeting, Glasgow Rangers have required the 41 clubs across Scotland’s top four divisions to think long and hard about the future of football in the country.
The ‘Gers believe there has been foul play from the SPFL in their attempts to find a solution to the season. Their 200-page dossier, including plenty of evidence, was said to prove that – although the governing body themselves disagreed after casting their eyes on to it.
Several clubs have started to back the ‘Gers. Aberdeen, with whom the Ibrox outfit have a strong rivalry, have come out in support, as have Partick Thistle. Now, another club has joined that growing group – Stenhousemuir, who have done so via a statement on their website.
Is the best statement so far?
Unsurprisingly, ‘Gers fans have been reacting in their droves to the statement via Twitter. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
This is probably the best statement of the lot. No anger, agenda or anything untoward. Simply a chance to have the review and clear the air for all clubs makes sense. 👌 https://t.co/t44kPXPdX3

The fact Stenhousemuir feel the need to say they aren’t picking sides sums up the bitterness amongst Scottish football.
‘not agreeing with Rangers’ regardless of their stance appears to be the most important policy for a lot of people https://t.co/Yl2IkvPx4i

Very good to see teams standing firm for the integrity of Scottish Football, the so called leaders have dragged our game through the mire.

Amidst the chaos, a sensible view emerges. https://t.co/lDqwN3jGBP

That’s the best statement out of everybody that. https://t.co/EWo1KYAPzK

Spot on. Any club that doesn’t vote for this has a clear agenda.
