Former Glasgow Rangers star Brian Laudrup is a footballing legend.
The midfielder/forward has a glittering record, having appeared for the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Ajax, and of course the Gers, whilst he also has a European Championship trophy to his name, won in 1992 with Denmark. He is a Champions League winner, a six-time league title winner, whilst he was named in the FIFA 100 and was in the top 30 in the Ballon d’Or on no less than three occasions.
In any conversation regarding right-wingers, it is hard to think of any player who would be able to rival him in terms of those to have graced the Scottish Premiership. However, the Herald appear to believe it is not that simple, printing a headline asking, as part of their series to decide a Greatest Premier XI, whether James Forrest could rival him for a spot.
Who would you choose?
The Gers supporters appear to be in disbelief, and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts – one fan even called it “scandalous”. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.

Forrest couldn’t lace Laudrups boots, never mind trying to compare the two. Typical deluded Scottish media. 😂🤦♂️

Literally unbelievable journalism (again). Gotta say mind you the lads at Hollicom are consistent if nothing else.

Is that a wind-up? James Forrest mentioned in the same breath as Brian Laudrup! Also Brian played more on the left wing than right wing. Unbelievable comparison. Brian was part of a real 9IAR and won a European trophy with his country too.
