As per The Daily Star, Glasgow Rangers are one of a number of sides interested in recently released Manchester United youngster Dion McGhee.
The 19-year-old spent 13 years at Old Trafford, but was recently released by the club. However, despite that, he does not have a lack of suitors.
Alongside the Gers, West Ham and Watford have been mentioned, as have Benfica and Porto. Derby County, too, are said to be interested, as are Nice and AZ Alkmaar. The report does add that the opportunity to play under Steven Gerrard may well convince him to move to Ibrox.
Gerrard is, without doubt, one of the best midfielders of this century. The 40-year-old made no less than 710 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, winning the Champions League along the way, whilst he also managed to pick up over 100 caps for England.
Would you like to sign Dion McGhee?
McGhee, as a central midfielder, would surely benefit from playing under such a huge name in world football, and one who made his career in the same position as the teenager. McGhee himself clearly has talent – without it, he wouldn’t have spent so long at one of the biggest clubs on the planet.
Now, it is about translating that ability to the professional game, and the Gers can help the youngster do exactly that.
