Livingston defender Marvin Bartley has rubbished claims that Lyndon Dykes’ new choice of hairstyle is a come-and-get-me plea to Glasgow Rangers.
Australian Dykes has been linked with a move to Ibrox in recent weeks after a successful campaign that saw him score 12 goals in all competitions. This week, he published a photo of himself with blue hair, which to many indicated that he was revealing his next club of choice.
However, teammate Bartley said:
“He’ll just randomly say to his wife, Victoria, ‘Cut my hair’ – and she is NOT a hairdresser. So he’ll come in the next day and it’s unreal.
“There was a point last season when I said to him, ‘I’m messaging Victoria because enough is enough!’ It was unacceptable. He’d gone through three haircuts in four days and the second one was horrific.
“I read about it being a ‘come and get me plea’ to Rangers but he’s just bored, like the rest of us, and is too much of a live-wire for his own good.”
As Bartley says, this is unlikely to be Dykes’ way of confirming that he wants to make the switch to the 54-time Scottish champions. Still, that doesn’t mean that the 24-year-old, for whom Livingston reportedly want £2m, will definitely not be interested in a move to the Gers.
Would you like to sign Lyndon Dykes?
There is still plenty of time for the Steven Gerrard and co to take him to Ibrox if they really want him. It remains to be seen where Dykes is playing his football by the start of next season.
