As per TuttoMercatoWeb, Glasgow Rangers have made a bid for Real Valladolid striker Sekou Gassama.
The report says that the Gers have already made an offer for the forward, said to be €3m (£2.7m).
They are not the only club interested in signing him though, with Hertha Berlin also said to be in pursuit if Krzysztof Piatek departs.
The 25-year-old had a relatively good season in the Spanish second division, scoring nine times in 19 matches for Almeria and Fuenlabrada, whilst also contributing one assist. However, other than that, he has made little to no impact on the sport, previously spending his time in the lower divisions or youth leagues.
Would you like to sign Gassama?
The Gers are clearly on the lookout for a striker this summer, hence the numerous links to the likes of Lyndon Dykes and Ivan Toney, who scored 12 and 26 times respectively in all competitions in the previous campaign. Given their performances in the past, it is hard to see why Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson would make a move for Gassama if they could sign either of the other two.
All in all, this does not seem to be a wise move from the 54-time Scottish champions. Hopefully, this is nothing other than speculation.
