Rangers still remain in the title race but it would take something special to see Steven Gerrard and his team lift the Scottish Premiership at the end of the season.
For all the hard work they have put in this season, Rangers would have hoped to be a little closer to their most hated rivals.
Whilst eight points are not impossible to claw back, it could prove a tricky task and one the Gers are not capable of fulfilling.
With that in mind, Rangers need to find ways to improve their chances next season, in a bid to become better domestically and in Europe.
It may be a move with the future in mind but Rangers could strengthen their depth and quality in midfield by signing Tottenham’s U23 star Jack Roles.
Jack Roles, has been one of Tottenham’s most prolific goalscorer’s at youth level but it seems like the club are ready to part ways with him. Despite all his successes in the youth system over the last few years, it seems (via Football.London) that Jack Roles will not be given a new contract at the end of the season.
And even though he has scored six times and created a further six assists this season, the Cyprus U21 star could become someone else’s gain, like Rangers for example.
Given a chance with the Rangers first-team could allow Roles to quickly get accustomed to what is expected of him at a much higher level, hence enabling him to improve as well.
Yes, they aren’t short of midfield options but should the opportunity come around to acquire a young starlet for no fee, they simply cannot turn that option down.
