Steven Gerrard will be praying that he can get his team inspired again after their most recent European failure.
It was heartbreak for the Gers as they ended their time in the Europa League, unable to get out of the group stage.
Nevertheless, Rangers have their best chance in years to challenge for the Scottish Premiership now that Celtic have become wobbly in recent weeks.
By no means will it be an easy task but if Steven Gerrard can get his players motivated, Rangers do have the stars to make a difference.
If the manager thinks differently and wants a more unpredictable attacker, then he should make a move to try and sign Jason Puncheon.
The Crystal Palace midfielder, (who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt) will be embarrassed to see just eight minutes of Premier League football to his name this season.
From playing almost 50 games in the two seasons prior, Puncheon has really fallen down the pecking order at Selhurst Park, due to the investment made in his position.
The 32-year-old would undoubtedly still make a brilliant signing for Rangers with a lot still to offer any team willing to give him regular game-time.
As a versatile midfielder, Jason Puncheon is no stranger to finding the back of the net himself or supplying a team-mate to do so instead.
Steven Gerrard will recollect of his own playing days against the Englishman, recognising that he could do a brilliant job for Rangers.
Any move now will likely be Puncheon’s last and he would want to make a good impression, should the Gers really try and sign him.
Would Puncheon be a good signing for Rangers… Let us know!
