Glasgow Rangers are set to lose out on Florian Kamberi as it is revealed that there is plenty of competition for his signature from across Europe, according to the Glasgow Times.
Kamberi joined on loan in January of this year, and ended up making nine appearances for the Gers in all competitions before the campaign was brought to a close due to the current pandemic.
The Ibrox outfit looked as though they may be in a position to sign him permanently should they want to, but they took their time in taking a decision, leaving the door open for other sides to move in for him instead.
Ross Wilson has been negligent here in not making it clear whether they want Kamberi or not, and now plenty of other sides have entered the equation for the player. However, missing out on him would not necessarily be a bad thing.
In those nine appearances the 25-year-old made after joining on a temporary basis from Hibernian, he managed just one goal. In comparison with the other strikers already at the club, Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe, he does not appear to be on the same level – they bagged 29 and 17 times respectively before the campaign was ended prematurely.
Would you like to sign Kamberi permanently?
Given that Kamberi still has two years left on his deal with the Edinburgh outfit, he would not be available on a free transfer – with the Gers attempting to close the gap at the top of the table to fierce rivals Celtic, they should let someone else battle for the striker.
