Kieran Dowell is the playmaker Rangers badly need in January

Rangers are desperate to find their best form in order to push deadly rivals Celtic all the way for the Scottish Premiership title.

Steven Gerrard is hoping his team can pull it out the bag once again, like they did during the opening games of the season.

Rangers are still equipped with a strong squad and their title chances still remain intact for now.

However, to ensure they have the best possible chance at winning the title, the most sensible thing for Rangers right now would be to sign some new players, in order to keep competition for places within the squad.

A player who could be a fantastic option for the Gers is Everton midfielder Kieran Dowell.

Dowell, (who is valued at £2.7 million on Transfermarkt) is a fantastic youngster with a bright future ahead of him if he can get valuable game-time and experience right now.

Whilst massively struggling for time to prove his worth to Marco Silva this season, Dowell rightly will feel that a move away from Goodison Park is the best thing for him.

It just so happens that the Gers are in need of a more creative spark, which Kieran Dowell could certainly provide.

Despite being young, he has the quality to be an instant success at Ibrox, suggested by his previous loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

When on-loan with the Championship side last season, Dowell scored ten goals and provided five assists in a season-long campaign spent there.

Rangers would jump for joy if Dowell had that much of an impact because he alone could be their driving force in order to win the Scottish Premiership this season.
