King and Gerrard failed to address lack of experience

Rangers have looked like a completely different side to the one that supporters saw under Graeme Murty last season, as they find themselves in a very promising position to succeed.

The Bluenoses will have their sights set firmly on enjoying success in Europe and pipping Celtic to as many trophies as possible. And, it’s safe to say that Steven Gerrard has looked to invest heavily in his side this season as he has welcomed a number of fresh faces to the club.

Indeed, Rangers chairman Dave King has backed Gerrard all the way this summer, but they may have missed a trick when you take their summer signings into consideration.

Worryingly, the Scottish club have one of the youngest squads in the Scottish Premiership, which could come back to bite them in what will be a long, tiring season for the Bluenoses.

Rangers have added the likes of Ovie Ejaria, Lassana Coulibaly, Ryan Kent, Connor Goldson, Jon Flanagan, Umar Sadiq and Nikola Katic, who are all in the early stages of their football careers.

However, this could cause problems when it comes down to grinding out performances in the Old Firm clash or in pressurised situations, as they just aren’t used to a demanding season in the Scottish Premiership that could involve the Europa League group stages and possibly even more.
