Rangers: Fans have mixed views on drawing Hearts in Scottish Cup quarter-finals - Rangers

Plenty of Rangers fans have been reacting on social media to the draw that they were handed for the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

As conveyed by the club’s official Twitter channel @RangersFC, Steven Gerrard’s side will be away to Hearts in the last eight of the competition after they defeated Hamilton 4-1 on Saturday to progress to that stage.

Although the Edinburgh club are currently bottom of the Premiership, Rangers have come unstuck on both of their previous visits to Tynecastle this season. The Light Blues drew 1-1 at the venue in October and were then defeated 2-1 when they returned there just over two weeks ago, with Liam Boyce scoring a late winner for Daniel Stendel’s team as they came from behind to triumph (as per Sky Sports).

The ‘Gers are looking to win the Scottish Cup for the 34th time in their history this season but have not won the competition since 2009. They will hope to avoid a second successive quarter-final elimination after crashing out at home to Aberdeen at that stage of the tournament last year (as per BBC).

The upcoming visit to Tynecastle has prompted mixed reaction on Twitter from these Rangers fans, with some eager to finally get one over on Hearts and others dreading another trip to a venue that has not been kind to them of late:
