‘Low ball’ offer reportedly lined up as Rangers’ busy January window looks to continue

It’s been a manic month for the Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern so far, much to the delight of the punters propping up our bar. Indeed, with our resident Gers once again excited for the future, they’re happy with the way in which those behind the scenes have looked to clear up the recruitment mess of the last two summer windows.

With new faces lifting the mood amongst our local Light Blues, attention must now turn towards exactly who should leave Ibrox as Graeme Murty looks to shave numbers from his squad. Still, having said that, there are more obvious candidates than the one suggested in the Daily Record today…

According to their report, Wigan Athletic are lining up a move for Jordan Rossiter. The former Liverpool youngster, who was brought to the club by Mark Warburton in the summer of 2016, has struggled with injuries since moving up to Glasgow, making only 10 appearances for the Scottish giants.

Amid his injury concerns, Latics boss Paul Cook is understood to be weighing up a ‘low ball bid’ for the 20-year-old, having reportedly tracked his progress during his younger days on Merseyside.

Though he arrived with a big reputation, our resident Rangers fans wouldn’t mind seeing him depart, believing the first-team has moved on without him.

Landlord’s Verdict:

It’s a shame it never worked for Rossiter in Scotland, who could have helped build his reputation if the club was in the right state at the time. However, everyone is currently wasting their time at the moment and perhaps a move back to England would be the best move for him.
