Rangers will feel ready to push Celtic all the way in a bid to take the Scottish Premiership back to Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard has given his team belief and the freedom to play how they want – which is working very nicely so far.
Yet there is still just under half the season to be played, meaning Rangers still have a lot of work to do if they want to beat their most hated rivals and snatch the title away from them.
Signings during the January transfer window will be vital in giving Rangers the ability to do just that and as another attacking option, the Gers must look at recruiting Bournemouth’s Lys Mousset.
Mousset, (who is valued at £3.1 million on Transfermarkt) would arguably be a far greater option for the Gers, rather than the Bournemouth forward they’re currently being linked with, in Jermain Defoe.
The Frenchman will be keen to show the Cherries what he can do and with the opportunity to gain experience at Rangers, he has the platform to do just that.
With great pace and finishing ability, he could pose a similarly important threat to Alfredo Morelos up-front.
He may even prove to be a better option than the Colombian international and be the driving force behind Rangers winning the Scottish Premiership.
That’s all theoretical of course, but if Lys Mousset can show his quality, Rangers could have themselves another very good goal-scorer, capable of changing a game at any given moment.
Rangers need more up-front and Lys Mousset could offer just that if the Gers could conjure up a deal to sign him.
