Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be wanting the club to strengthen in the summer, and they might get their wish as the Light Blues start to look at who to recruit.
The Daily Mail are claiming the Gers are looking to bring in two new central defenders, as it is a position that has become depleted recently. David Bates has recently signed a deal with Bundesliga outfit Hamburg to join them at the end of the season, whilst Danny Wilson left to try his luck in the MLS.
Those two departures have left Rangers requiring to focus their attention on the transfer market to that area of the pitch before they chase anyone else and Mark Allen is already on the case. The director of football will want to bring in experienced names to help them finally compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic, whilst also trying to compete in European football.
Graeme Murty’s position as manager still remains doubtful as he has not been named as the permanent successor, so Allen believes he will need to act and make plans to turn their failing squad around.
The Rangers locals in the Tavern will be pleased to hear that the club are already looking to find suitable transfer targets in the summer, although they may be concerned that the director of football is taking control whilst Murty is currently in charge.
