While it’s unclear as to what the future holds for the Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern when speaking in a longer-term context, the fact the club have been active in the market thus far has been an encouraging sight for many of our locals.
Indeed, the signing of Sean Goss on loan has delighted our resident Gers and comments within a report on Jamie Murphy in the Scottish Sun has pleased them even further. They claim director of football Mark Allen – who hasn’t always convinced our drinkers – led the chase for Goss, who has proved a popular addition in our bar.
Allen was strongly involved in the failed pursuit of Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes earlier this season, so it’s promising in the eyes of our local Light Blues to see him land a deal so early on in the transfer market. Hopefully for them, it’s a theme that can continue over the course of the next few weeks.
It’s a big thing for Allen to get one in so quickly and certainly something he needed. Under pressure to deliver, improving the squad with British talent more suited to life in the Scottish league is a great way to kick off the New Year. Now, it’s time to get rid of some of those Pedro Caixinha flops!
