The Rangers fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have been waxing lyrical over potential replacements for Mark Warburton at Ibrox over the last few days.
With the former Brentford coach having departed Glasgow in rather bizarre circumstances recently, those in the Tavern have been hoping he’s made way for an exciting name, with Frank De Boer seemingly preferred by our drinkers.
However, reports from the Daily Mail today suggest top brass on the blue side of Glasgow are casting keen eyes over the Championship. They claim Leeds United chief Garry Monk has emerged as an option for the SPFL outfit as they look to bring the club forward, following Warburton’s work in taking them up the leagues.
Former Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett is reportedly also a name on their list as the club apparently consider a long-term appointment, with them also thought to be keen on appointing a director of football. Exciting appointments these may be, though the Gers in the bar aren’t quite sure what to make.
