It’s never easy for the Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern.
Indeed, while a 1-4 away win over Hamilton Accies allowed the local Light Blues who prop up our bar could seriously enjoy their weekend, reports from the Daily Record today have somewhat soured the collective mood amongst them.
They’ve revealed that the SFA have received footage of a potential elbow from midfielder Carlos Pena at the SuperSeal Stadium on Accies star, Greg Docherty. The clips are reportedly being examined to see whether or not the Mexican international has a case to answer over the incident.
Scotland’s governing football body have until 3pm tomorrow to issue the 27-year-old with a notice of complaint and ultimately that could lead to a potential ban for Pedro Caixinha’s summer signing.
The apparent incident took place off the ball, after Pena had already been booked, amid what has proven to be a frustrating career in Scotland thus far. While he has bagged two goals in seven games, much more was expected of the playmaker, who could be in line to miss more action, amid doubts amongst our punters about his fitness.
Yet more frustration for Pena. If he is banned, it really could wreck his season, as he’s barely lifted up any trees since arriving in Glasgow.
