The Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern are fully expectant of a major improvement after their loss to Hamilton in the last round of domestic games. Indeed, while life had been going well since the departure of Pedro Caixinha, that loss was an eye-opener.
Another negative story to have emerged from that loss was in regard to Bruno Alves. While there have been conflicting reports since, there were suggestions the veteran defender REFUSED the chance to be a substitute against the Accies, much to the annoyance of our local Light Blues.
Now, as reported by the Scottish Sun, the Portuguese will miss another game. Alves, whose career in Glasgow has struggled to get off the ground, is still reportedly suffering from a back problem that will likely rule him out of the home game with Dundee tomorrow night.
As you can imagine, our resident Gers are concerned about Alves’ lack of game time and believe he could prove to be a flop of a signing.
There’s something not quite right about Alves and Rangers. He’s struggled to string any sort of consistency together since his arrival and, while suggestions he refused to sit on the bench might be wrong, it doesn’t look to be happy families.
