Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted their side got back to winning ways at the weekend, however, one of their influential men could be set to leave the club in the summer.
Graeme Murty’s side climbed back into second in the Scottish Premiership with the 4-0 victory against Dundee, sitting level on points with Aberdeen as they head into the final stretch. The win will be a confidence boost to the Gers as they prepare for next weeks Old Firm derby with Celtic for a place in the final of the Scottish Cup.
However, those preparations may have been rocked by some of the latest comments coming out of the club in regards to Kenny Miller. The veteran striker has admitted he wants to continue playing next season and could see a move away from Ibrox the only way to get regular minutes on the pitch.
The 38-year-old’s contract is up in the summer and he has told the BBC that there have not been any talks regarding his future at the moment, although he has stated he his focusing on his own health after a lengthy injury.
“Nothing has been discussed regarding my future,” he told BBC Sport.
“Who knows what will happen at the club in the summer, so I’ll look after myself because I want to continue playing. I’ll stay focused on that.”
Rangers fans in the Tavern will be disappointed to hear the news that their veteran striker does not know about his future at the moment, however, many of them will be hoping the news does not distract them from their Old Firm tie with Celtic at the weekend.
