Rangers’ draw away at Villarreal, after twice coming from behind, certainly felt like a defining moment. Indeed, while the Gers’ domestic start hasn’t been great, Steven Gerrard’s work in the Europa League is looking as if it could make his first campaign in charge a hugely enjoyable one.
Clearly, there’s still a long way to go if they are to repeat their heroics of getting to the final like back in 2008, though things are going very well for the Light Blues on the continent.
Naturally, after the madness of last night, a number of players have been taking to Twitter to celebrate what could end up being a famous night for Rangers. One of them, youngster Glenn Middleton, prompted the usual reaction to his tweet, though there was an interesting response.
Good result away too villareal tonight! pic.twitter.com/bgVimEvYlc

Swansea striker Ollie McBurnie, who plays with the Rangers man in the Scottish U21 set-up, congratulated his countryman in response, sending a selection of Gers into a relative frenzy. McBurnie was touted for a move up to Ibrox over the course of the summer and supports the club, so is a popular figure amongst the Rangers faithful.

With that said, here’s a look at what Rangers fans had to say following his tweet.
Mcburnie loves the gers as much as I would love him to be in the team
