Rangers remain content with the job that Steven Gerrard has done so far as they look to close the gap in-between them and deadly rivals Celtic this season.
The Liverpool and England has seamlessly made the transition into becoming a manager from player and that is testament to his ability in football.
The Gers have one of the strongest squads they have had in years and all things are looking forward, which is something that couldn’t necessarily be said a few years ago.
Like with all teams, there is still for margin for improvement and considering Rangers are not top of the league and have lost games, they could do with some fresh acquisitions to keep the squad competitive.
With central-midfielder Jose Mauri out of contract in the summer with AC Milan, there is no reason stopping Rangers from making a move towards the Italian.
Mauri, who is valued at £1.3 million on Transfermarkt, is a confident midfielder who could bring a lot to the current Rangers set-up.
Whilst only making one appearance so far this season, Mauri has in glimpses, shown his immense capabilities during his three years at the San Siro so far.
The former Italy U21 midfielder is an astute passer of the ball and has an impressive range that could allow the Rangers forwards to be confident of more quality chances coming their way.
Although they have a host of players available to play in the centre of midfield, none quite possess the talent that Jose Mauri has and with a move in January, with a view to signing him in the summer when his contract is up, that would be very smart business indeed for Rangers.
